The Scottish Government has a statutory climate change target to reduce carbon emissions by 75% by 2030 and reach net-zero emissions by 2045.
Achieving these goals will require significant changes in how homes and non-domestic buildings in Scotland are heated and their energy efficiency improved. The supply chain in Scotland also needs to be fit-for-purpose in terms of having the capacity and skills to deliver this scale of low-carbon heating technology deployment.
Delta-EE and Changeworks have produced a report for ClimateXChange reviewing the current capabilities and skills along the supply chain of the energy efficiency and low carbon heating technologies in Scotland. It identifies the skills gaps, and analyses the potential options to fill these gaps so the targets set out in the Heat in Buildings Strategy are met.
